a vr experience without the vr headset

PROJECT OVERVIEW
designed to showcase the Mitsubishi electric product line within the home environment
Mitsubishi Electric reached out to me to design, model, and render, a concept they had for a custom cargo trailer acting as a showcase room for the Mitsubishi Electric Product Line. We wanted to create a “VR experience without the headset” for the viewers. I worked with the area sales managers in the Houston and Dallas area, as well as the regional marketing specialist in the Houston area. Furthermore, through our working partnership, I had to communicate and design with material & part suppliers, engineering, and marketing.

IT ALL STARTED
WITH A BLUEPRINT

design brief
Design, model, and render, a blue-print concept for a custom cargo trailer acting as a showcase room for  the Mitsubishi Electric Product Line.
embodying the home & brand
The Mitsubishi Electric Custom Cargo Trailer from the beginning was intended to bring the idea of the Mitsubishi Electric HVAC product line inside your home to the highest fidelity, thus making it easier for the consumer to imagine what their home could look like.

MODELING PROCESS

modeling Mitsubishi electric product line
To help increase my efficiency when modeling, images of the electrical units were given to me. I studied each electrical unit proceeding to CAD out each model to as high fidelity as I could.
modeling Mitsubishi electric CUSTOM CARGO TRAILER
Before modeling the cargo trailer design I wanted to gather reference and familiarize myself with how cargo trailers are engineered, assembled, and are layed out, as well as to research each part specified in the materials part list given to me

RENDERING PROCESS

ROUND 1 RENDERS
Verify the proportions of the cargo trailer
Set up best camera angles
Test different lighting set ups
Adjust branding on TV for legal purposes
Develop different materials and textures for objects within scene for optimal lighting reflections
